How To Lose Weight The Right Way: 6 Top Tips

Trying to lose weight can be a huge challenge for most of us, especially when you consider that the fastest path to losing weight is quite different for everyone. The hard part is just following through and sticking to it. If you want to lose weight all you have to do is stick to these simple to follow rules:

1. When you want to lose weight you need to set small, realistic goals. This means you should try and go for smaller goals that are easy and fast to reach. Try and set your goals at around 5 pounds. This way you won't have the harder to reach goals which usually result in a sense of failure because you don't reach it. With smaller goals you can attain them and keep a winning attitude which makes losing weight SO much easier.

2. Exercise. It's that simple. You don't need to spend thousands of dollars or hundreds of hours at a gym. What you should do is find something that you enjoy doing. If you like swimming or riding your bike then choose that as your daily exercise activity. If you get bored easily choose several different activities that you enjoy doing. Try swimming, jogging, walking, gardening, martial arts, jumping rope, basketball, tennis, etc.

3. Keep moving. Park further away from your destination so you have to walk. Bounce your legs while you sit at your desk. Walk around while you talk on the phone.

4. Eat a HEALTHY diet. This means you need to get rid of all of that prepacked, processed junk food and replace it with fresh fruit, vegetables, fish, lean meats, nuts, seeds, and whole-grains. Learn to cook if you don't know how. Learn how to cook Mediterranean style foods because they are easy, delicious, and full of super-nutrients. There are hundreds of healthy food cookbooks. Just go to Amazon or your local used book store and you'll find great deals on excellent health food cookbooks.

5. Try to eat smaller meals more frequently. Try and eat 3 to 5 times a day. The best would be to eat 3 medium sized meals with 2 small snacks thrown in between. This way you don't ever get too hungry and you keep your metabolism revved up and running high all day.

6. Keep track of your progress. Keep a diary or food journal on hand to track your progress. If you keep track and hold yourself accountable you'll be more likely to succeed.
